The right attitude in trials
Gold medals are not awarded just to anyone, its the few who strive for excellence that get it. In our walk of faith we ought to set our eyes up on the prize and thats the crown of glory. Salvation is not an easy journey it is full of trials, temptations and pain at times.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”
— Psalms 34:19 (KJV).
Christ told the world that everyone who would take the cross and follow Him was indeed His disciple. Nevertheless there is joy in the Lord Jesus, not one we generate on our own terms but one given by the Spirit of God.
It is in Him that we gain strength to overcome every kind of trials and temptations.
In this walk we will be tested, tried like gold and silver,
“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.”
— Isaiah 48:10 (KJV)
We are a chosen people deemed worthy to bring praise unto God
“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”
— Zechariah 13:9 (KJV)
“And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
— Malachi 3:3 (KJV)
So be happy and joyful whenever you go through trials, it shapes your character along the way. Its a way of God to get rid of impurities within ourselves and bring forth good fruits, patience, understanding and being faithful regardless the situation. Jesus is never far, even in the furnace of affliction He will uphold you. God has prepared more than we could ever imagine unto us the church of Christ.
Our walk might be tough but in Christ our joy is found
We will rejoice in affliction
We shall praise when all is gloom
In that darkness our light shines
Hoping unto Christ
The author and finisher of our race
Faithful is His Name
Mercy is full of Him
Grace upon Grace have we been bestowed
To praise the Lord almighty.
