Fear of the Lord

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
  — Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

To fear the Lord does not mean being scared of God, yes He is Mighty, terrible surrounded by thunder and voice of mighty waters pertaining several verses of the scripture and its true. He is also a Father that takes pride in a personal relationship with Him, He offered heavens best Jesus Christ to atone for our sins.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, its a Holy fear of not wanting to dishonor the King, its a desire to do the will of God, its a foundation of belief and hope, its the first steps to true freedom. Its the law of God 
“Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.”
  — Deuteronomy 13:4 (KJV) 
In doing so we align ourselves in direct path of a faithful relationship and by doing so we invite God upon our life, to redeem us from addictions, oppression's and derainged thoughts of our mind.
“Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.”
  — Joshua 24:14 (KJV)
It keeps men from idolizing things of this world, some career, vehicles, lifestyles, phones and any other thing that we give much devotion other than God. Have you not heard that He is a jealous God ?
Fear gives men a way out of wicked lifestyle and unto a more pleasing one before the eyes of God.
“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
  — Job 28:28 (KJV)
It brings satisfaction upon the soul, many people tend to try different things to heal the emptiness in them but it doesnt help but in God there is hope 
“O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.”
  — Psalms 34:9 (KJV)
The fear of the Lord is taught 
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”
  — Psalms 34:11 (KJV)
The benefits of. Holy fear are innumerable, its upon us to enact it upon everything we do and by that we will step into another realm of knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
